TV Tropes & Idiodoms! The Webcomic List

Enter Roger. This strip was written before the 7-05-02 strip, and since I'd never
drawn a raccoon before, I looked up some references. I thought it came out well, but later
considered it too detailed, and not "cartoony" enough. A little experimenting (as with the 7-05-02 strip)
and checking some other comics raccoon designs, eventually led to the characters' current look.

Despite not intending TWB to be a "furry" strip (at the time I didn't even know the connotations of that term)
I did need a "foil", a straight man for some jokes, and he needed to be a recurring character.
A raccoon was suggested as the character, and at the time, I still had the original idea in mind,
that these two would be the only non-human characters, with the usual jokes to go along with that.
